Annual Accounts
Where do we get our money from?
Each year, usually in December, we consider what we would like to do for our local residents and now much we think it will cost. We then inform Telford & Wrekin Council how much money we need and they collect it on our behalf. This money is called the 'precept' and the council tax bill shows how much local residents pay to Telford & Wrekin Council and how much they pay to Lawley & Overdale Parish Council.
We can also apply for grants and parish councils that own property can receive income from renting or leasing it. Unfortunately, we don't own any property or land but we do lease Lawley Community Centre from Telford & Wrekin Council and we do receive some income from hiring it to local community groups and occasionally from hiring to private parties.
